Healthy routines: non-negotiables
As our lives become increasingly busy and demanding, it's easy to neglect our physical and mental health. That's why it's important to have a set of daily habits that help us maintain balance and well-being.
Here are some of the healthy habits that have become an integral part of my daily routine.
Kickstart Your Day with Warm Water, Lemon, and Cayenne
To jumpstart my day, I always begin with a warm cup of water infused with freshly squeezed lemon juice and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Sometimes, I even add a splash of apple cider vinegar for an extra kick. This morning cocktail not only soothes my senses but also offers a plethora of health benefits. Lemon and cayenne are known to detoxify and alkalize the body, while also aiding in digestion and boosting metabolism. This ritual leaves me feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the day ahead.
Invest in Your Skin with a LED Mask
Investing in our skin is one of the best things we can do for our future selves. That's why I recently invested in an LED mask from Dr. Dennis Gross. This mask is the first thing I use in the morning and has incredible benefits, stimulating the natural production of collagen and elastin to reduce wrinkles, sun spots, and sun damage. Additionally, it improves skin texture and reduces inflammation.
Although I look like a crazy transfomer in the mornings, this investment in my skincare routine is a proactive approach to maintaining healthy and vibrant skin for the long term.
Prioritize a Skincare Routine
An essential part of my daily self-care routine is my skincare regimen. I start with a Niactil cleanser by Elixir Cosmeceuticals, followed by their best-selling product, Niactil, which contains Niacinamide known for its redness-reducing and pore-minimizing properties.
I also tend use Hydractil Repair to keep my skin hydrated and always apply SPF in the morning for sun protection.
To enhance my skincare routine, I've also incorporated gua sha, a traditional Chinese practice that involves gently massaging the face with a smooth-edged stone. This technique helps to reduce puffiness, improve circulation, and promote overall skin health.

Supplements
I prioritize taking nutritional supplements to support my overall health. I consistently take Vitamin D, Complex B, B16 Magnesium, Omega 3, and Iron. I have also found that Magnesium Glycinate has been beneficial for improving my sleep quality. These supplements play a crucial role in ensuring that my body receives the essential nutrients it needs for optimal functioning and well-being.
Daily Movement
Movement is another essential part of my daily routine, as it helps me maintain good health. My go-to exercises include Pilates Reformer, Form by Sami Clarke, Alo Yoga (barre, pilates), and yoga. These exercises not only keep me physically fit but also help me de-stress and clear my mind. On days when I don't have formal exercise planned, I make sure to hit my daily target of 8k+ steps a day. This number has helped me stay consistent and prioritize movement in my daily routine.
Meditation
Whether it's through guided meditation, walking, reading, or yoga nidra, I make sure to set aside time every day for this practice. Meditation helps me stay centered and focused, and it's a great way to start or end my day on a positive note.
